Anyone out there who might be listening have any suggestions on good video capture software to grab dumps from VHS tape to my computer using my TV Tuner Card? I’m using VirtualDub, but it’s being wonky. For some reason, if I dump audio without recompression, the audio will randomly slow WAY down then speed WAY up, then return to normal sample rate. It’s weird.
If I dump it and compress it on the fly as MP3, for example, it works okay. However, I would rather not dump to a lossy format just to have it re-encoded in a lossy format when I convert it to DVD.
Thoughts? Anyone care?

Well. . . the audio itself is so poor (old) that I don’t think it probably matters very much if the sound is encoded in a lossy format. Not that I’m a technical expert or anything. . .
Good point. I still think VirtualDub is being wonky.
