EDIT: Two Notes – 1) I know the Gadgets Sidebar is wonky during page resizes smaller than the width of the main column. 2) when I say “put your email address in the comments form”, I mean in the email address field. You don’t have to put it in the main comment body – everyone can see it there, including spambots.

Ever feel like you might want to beta test something? Now’s your chance! Drop me a line in the comments (be sure to add your email address to the comment form!) and I’ll forward you a completely free copy of the Inanis Seven WordPress theme for your own personal (or professional) testing.

I’ll limit the number of people who get a beta copy,  but I’m not sure what that limit will be – I’ll just set it arbitrarily when I feel there are enough copies in circulation.

When you submit your comment, give me a quick, two line synopsis of why you would like to beta test the theme and why you feel you would be a good candidate. I would like to limit the beta to those with some WordPress or web design experience so they can help me root out obscure bugs, but everyday bloggers are welcome to try it out too. If you just want to see the features and play with it a bit, check out the sandbox instead.

The theme is compatible with WordPress 2.8 and up, but works best on 2.9 variants. I have tested it to be compatible with WordPress 3.0, but it doesn’t support any new 3.0 specific features. Those will come in a later release after the feature set is locked down and bugs are squashed.

The theme is NOT IE6 compatible. It won’t be. I will never make it to be. Don’t ask for me to make it so, because I won’t dignify you with a reply.

If you are chosen to test out the theme, be warned – I (inanis) CANNOT AND WILL NOT BE HELD RESPONSIBLE IF THE BETA THEME PULVERIZES YOUR POSTS, PUMMELS YOUR PAGES, OR OTHERWISE KILLS YOUR BLOG, YOUR FIRST BORN CHILD OR YOUR LAWN. IT’S BETA. YOU ASSUME ALL RISK BY INSTALLING BETA CODE ON YOUR WORDPRESS WEBLOG.

Phew, enough nastiness. In all reasonable reality, you shouldn’t have any blog killing, world ending problems. I’ve been running older versions of it on Inanis.net for months without issue, and I easily get 200 hits a day. (I remember when 10 hits a day was alot…)

I want to beta test this one cause I like the look that you have added to it since the other theme that I’m currently using.   2. I’d love to get a beta copy to play with, currently I’m in the middle of setting up my website and plan to use your design. I do have some web dev background and an IT Associates if its helps. I plan to use it for personal use only, mostly family blog.

      • what was the error and are you also beta testing?

        seven have a header problem on one of the files at line 7 and fix was forwared to inanis. I am using wordpress 3.0 but since it is a header problem, it will address you too if you are on seven.

Hey yeah if it’s not to late id love a copy – been using you Vista theme for quite a while now, and I’ve been keeping my eyes wide open on this one, really would love too see how well it would fit into my blog with diffrent scripts happening in diffrent places on my blog. Oh and to see if I can break the theme, though Im sure I wont! :p

    I just recently got a copy of your theme and i would like to play around with it. visiting your site made me aware that you have a beta copy of a new inanis theme. i would like to beta test using the new theme if you will allow me.

    i will be informing you in advance that i will be beta testing the new theme on WP 3.0 and do some patching.

  8. This is the only place where I can find a way of reaching you. I love your theme which I am using however, I have a real problem and need your assistance. I left a comment on your site however, it said that it is blocked. So if you would please contact me I am sure with your expertise this challenge I have can easily be handled.

    • Keep getting, Warning: Cannot modify header information – headers already sent by (output started at /home3/gavineke/public_html/wp-content/themes/seven/functions.php:7) in /home3/gavineke/public_html/wp-includes/pluggable.php on line 890

      • Gavin, I did some quick checks and it seems this is usually caused by empty spaces at the beginning or end of the file referenced second – in this case, pluggable.php. It may also be a permissions problem on said file.

        In any case, I’ve emailed you and asked for some more specific info about your setup so I can see if I can recreate, and subsequently fix the problem.

      • Gavin, check all your codes, anything that prints out an empty space on the browser before the redirection will cause that error. including blank lines on all include files.

        All space outside the and tags will cause this.

        • sorry the tags are stripped. everything outside the php code tags are treated as extra space. if this happen and the header was changed.. the browser will complain.

  17. I would like to receive a copy of the new Inanis Seven theme because I’m a huge fan of your Inanis glass theme. I have been using Inanis glass on my blog for over a year and would really like to upgrade to Inanis Seven. I have some experience with WordPress themes and php/css so I believe I could be some help in bug fixes.
