Could you make it into XML?

  2. #2 by inanis on November 8, 2008 - 9:27 am

Opel, this isn’t the right place to be posting your comment, but whatever.

I don’t have the time, or the experience necessary to convert the theme into XML. If you know someone who knows how to do this, feel free to let them have a shot at it. I won’t mind.

What a nice theme, i think..

  4. #4 by Opel on November 11, 2008 - 6:11 am

if you don’t mind, could you tell me
    what kind of a program
    you made it??

  5. #5 by inanis on November 11, 2008 - 10:43 pm

Uhh, well lets see. It’s a custom theme for WordPress. That means it’s a combination of XHTML (which is XML, sorta), Cascading Style Sheets, JavaScript and some custom graphics. It’s all hand-typed in text editors and graphics applications.

  6. #6 by Opel on November 12, 2008 - 9:03 am

    i mean
    what kind of program??
ex : Notepad (impossible), Dreamweaver, etc

  7. #7 by ProfBob on November 12, 2008 - 9:37 am

    Inanis,
Great theme. I really like it. Got a question, I notice on your site (Inanis.net) your theme has multiple tabs at the bottom. I’ve tried to get that to work. But, am having difficulties getting more than the “Home & About Me” tabs. Could you give me a little assistance?

  8. #8 by inanis on November 12, 2008 - 8:54 pm

ProfBob, This is because you only have two “Pages” on your blog. If you create more pages, you will get more buttons at the bottom.

A future release may have the ability to have those buttons attached to Categories instead of pages. Time will tell.

Opel, I wrote all the code in a program called PSPad. http://www.pspad.com/

First of all i LOVE this theme! Cudos! Second i have a question.. i installed it and it shows among my installed themes, but when i try to activate it everything goes blank. Is this the php4 bug? Sorry for asking, i’m kinda newbie :)
    T.

  11. #11 by inanis on November 13, 2008 - 7:53 pm

    TDM,

This -might- be the PHP4 bug, although when it happens it usually spits out an error about something on line 117 of functions.php.

It could be that your server (or your blog host) has error reporting shut off, so all you get is a blank page.

I suggest you wait for the next version, which will be out whenever the folks at WordPress approve it for download (its just sitting there, waiting for them) and install that and see what happens.

Until then, go back to another theme you like and wait it out. Sowwy :(

Ment to say in the last post, is it possible to add widgets to your side bar? Such as your “thoughts” bar.

  15. #15 by inanis on November 16, 2008 - 9:06 am

Yup. Go into your admin page. Go to design. Go to Widgets. There’s all your widgets that can go into the sidebar. Want more widgets? Look here. http://codex.wordpress.org/Plugins/WordPress_Widgets

Nope. I don’t have plans to create a 3 column version. I may, but I doubt it.

    Hey inanis,

Sorry if this isn’t the right place to post a bug/question about the Glass theme but I have run into a problem and was wondering if you could help? The problem is all of the sudden out of the blue the time doesn’t appear in the start bar, only the little separator. If you could/would check this out and email me how I should fix it that would be great!

    Thanks,
    Derrick

    Coco…
Open style.css. On line 234, you will find a line starting with #sidebar{ . In that line is a color declaration. You can edit that to change the color of the text. Read the following about text color and size.
