Conference in a big town

So, here I am, bored out of my mind, one hour early for an IT conference in Columbus. I mean, it’s cool that I’m learning things, but a whole day to listen to talking heads ramble on about how their product rocks…. I already know it rocks, that’s why I bought it.

Just installed a new Netgear N router that I got for $30. Now I can play Windows Media Center streams from the Media-PC to the Laptop over wireless without skipping. YAY

Working on Saturday sucks, but it pays the bills. Trying to figure out some odd glitch on a client machine with Backup Exec System Recovery 8.5. Windows installer/LiveUpdate tries to install updates for the thing, and fails. The application itself fails to run. Right clicking in an Explorer window and selecting ANY function crashes the shell after a few seconds. WEIRD!

I want to set up the Inanis Sandbox, so you can see what I’m working on and I can play with WordPress junk without killing Inanis.net. I have a sandbox running, but there’s no content. I’ll have to work on that.

Switched back to Seven theme. Gotta promote it, and it works better for my site layout.

Playing with Windows Home Server on a virtual machine – I want to see if it will work better for my household to use Home Server instead of Server ‘08 R2. All the integration between Home Server and the workstations and the Media Center box intrigues me.

Cleaning the house waiting for a new arrival. WOOT on the arrive, un-WOOT on the cleaning.

Updated WordPress on the box to 2.9.2 – gotta stay current you know. I still have to get around to rebuilding the server, though.

On hiatus…

… until my mind returns to me. Too busy in work and life to pay much attention to the blog right now. Maybe I’ll set up a Twitter account, because microblogging is really all I have time for right now.
