Things are calming down…

Work is getting to be more palatable lately, so if things stay calm for a while, I should be getting back to finishing up the Seven Beta. No promises though.

Reading a book by Joe Haldeman called Starbound. It was suggested by someone, seems to be the second in a series but I’ve really not looked into it. Interesting book. Difficult read – the author uses narrative in a peculiar way and sometimes it’s hard to identify who is speaking. Otherwise, a neat book. Should have that finished in a couple weeks – I only read for about an hour before bed and I have to keep going back and rereading to figure out who is speaking…

Maybe if I read more books, I would get an iPad or a Kindle…. unlikely.

Hello, Michael

Hello, KITT.

I watched the 2 hour Knight Rider special tonight, and I have to say that I am looking forward to the series, if they decide to show one. The show isn’t Battelstar Galactica, but it is better than alot of other crap on TV.

Aside from the blatant Ford advertising (why in the hell didn’t they use a Dodge Charger, its a nicer looking car) and the obvious plot holes (eh, prime time sci-fi, what can you expect), it was a good show.

The Hoff was in fine form, at least not drunk. I wish his cameo said something about the car and or their past, but eh, didn’t happen.

Soylent Green

Just bought and viewed Soylent Green today. I had not seen it for a very long time, and I since forgot how interesting the movie was. I don’t think human kind will ever come to that level of barbarism, but the whole global warming thing was ahead of it’s time. 30 years now they have been warning us of this, and here we are with hotter weather, wilder climates and melting ice shelves.

What have we done about it? Almost nothing. Yay.

Soylent Green is people!

Star Trek: Enterprise . . . it really was cool.

I was watching ST:Enterprise last night, and got to see some of the gems of the series, Episodes 93-96. Season 4 was really good, in whole, actually.

The problem with Enterprise, is that it never found the nich that I believe would have been the best for it. What Enterpise did in seasons 1-3 was stupid. Season 1 was all about the Suliban and their time traveling crap. Season 2 was just a bunch of disconnected stories, kinda like TNG and TOS. Season 3 was the whole Xindi crap, in an effort to do the season long story arc like DS9, except it failed miserably.

Then season 4. The best of the seasons. Season 4 did what Enterprise should have done from the beginning, it examined the start of the Federation, Star Fleet, and all the cool history and backstory stuff you were expecting from episode 1 but didn’t get. Unfortunately, they got the formula right about 3 years too late.

Oh well. Its still good stuph. Now, if 2008 would only get here so we can watch some Battlestar Galactica and see some Star Trek XI….
