Inanis Glass verison 1.2 is available for download. Get it now from MegaUpload, and later from WordPress when they approve it.

Again, if you have issues with the theme, please use the Contact Me page instead of comments to avoid comment clutter. Thanks and enjoy!

If this is the first time you have seen my ‘blog/site, welcome!

If you wish to post a comment or bug, please feel free to do so. If you just want to report an issue of some sort, please use my contact page instead. It’s the fastest way for me to receive your bug report, because your report won’t get tangled up in my draconian comment approval policy.

I have been getting quite a few notes and comments about the theme, mostly positive, a couple with some bugs. Since I have an old-fashioned day job and work 9-6 every day, I don’t have a lot of time to reply during the day, but rest assured I do see all your comments floating around waiting to be approved and I will get to all of them. I promise.

If you report bugs or whatever, I will also get to those and fix them…

  • If if can
  • If I feel so inclined
  • when I can get to them when I’m not at work.

… in that order.

It’s official: my theme is complete and available for download. Right now it’s just on my site, but hopefully the awesome folks at WordPress will validate it and put it up for download on WordPress Extend. If/when that happens, I will let you know about it!

I will also be making a few minor tweaks over the next few weeks as I find glitches, but I probably won’t be making any major changes, unless some critical issue shows up. Upcoming features and changes will be noted on the downloads page.

Check it out here.

I am testing a new version of my blog theme. It looks even better than the previous version, and is actually more cross browser compatible than the previous one. Lets take this for a swing for a week and see how it works, ‘kay? Glitches found and fixed (or maybe just found) to be listed here…

Sometimes, the best way to test something is to just get in and drive.

  • Browsers Working:
    • IE 6/Win [with issues, but it's viewable and usable], IE 7/Win, FF 2-3/Win, FF 3/Linux, FF 3/Mac [has a weird issue with post titles, need to get a Modern Mac to fix this], Opera 9.6/Win, Safari 3/Win, Safari 1-2/Mac, Chrome 0.2.149.30/Win
  • [fixed] - Sidebar XHMTL validation failure under certain circumstances
  • [fixed] - lightweight theme widgets bottom has incorrect setting in stylesheet for sidebar-bottom.
  • [fixed] - Tag Cloud overflows the Options Menu. Put it in a scrolling div?
  • [broken] - Certain items (galleries, blockquotes) are getting margin-ed off the page. ODD. {it was a clear:both problem} (still broken on picture gallery pages in FF2/Win)
  • [fixed] - Theme is not named correctly in the Disclaimer
  • [fixed] - Certain widgets seem to be broken? {it was a case of using classes instead of ids for styling}
  • [fixed] - My search template’s search field is too wide for the sidebar.
  • [fixed] - search button hover on start menu not working
  • [fixed] - Theme was not Valid XHTML Transitional
  • [fixed] - comments area form inputs are too big
  • [fixed] - Lightweight theme is glitchy because of fixes to make widgets work
  • [fixed] - gallery pic pages “post titles” are broken
  • [fixed] - edit button is illegible on certain themes
  • [added] - add ability to leave comments on “pages”
  • [added] - some javascript to force sidebar to always be full size of page content
  • [working] - minor graphic tweaks
  • [would like] -
    • ability to click on post title and go to full post

Not enough crap going on, so I upgraded my WordPress installation. Like everyone else using the dreaded “index.php” configuration (which I used by accident in the beginning and now can’t change it easily because the permalinks are now all set…) I was having problems with my static pages not showing. A stupid hack fixed it until the next WordPress version comes out.

I am gonna be doing some Stupid Geek Tricks with an old Mac or even an old Apple II soon. Nothing somebody else hasn’t already done, but its fun to do. More to come…

Oooh, and this is frickin’ sweet: Apple II GS Toys

Cause I’ll forget later

  • Install WordPress
  • Get Shell Access
  • in the blog’s root
    • touch .htaccess
    • sudo chmod 666 .htaccess
    • Edit said .htaccess fle and add the following
      • Options +FollowSymLinks
  • in /etc/apache2/sites-available
    • edit the file called default
    • Line 12 should read AllowOverride All
  • do sudo apache2 -k restart
  • Log into the blog, and set up your Pretty Permalinks desires.

Note To Self: This procedure may be incorrect. You modified so much crap trying to figure it out that you probably Christmas-Tree’d the server…
