RD wrote: Noticed your Mac 512K with a MacBottom. You say it is SCSI, does that mean your 512K has been upgraded to a Ke with a Dove SCSI card? Or is the MacBottom really a serial model for use with a stock 128K/512K?
Inanis wrote: I had to actually go into the "museum" and look at the thing to know how to answer your question! The SCSI port on this particular Mac is on the right side above the power switch, oriented vertically. It's a 25-pin connector. I never really took the time to take the machine apart to determine the nature of the thing. If you are REALLY curious (and I am kinda getting curious too), I can go through the painful rigmarole of taking the thing apart WITHOUT the special opener tool ... might take me a few days to get around to it.
RD wrote: It's possible! You verified what I needed to know. Yours is the later SCSI version. What you've described is the Dove (or similar) SCSI card that plugs into the ROM sockets and uses the 128K ROMs, most likely with an 800K drive too. So no need to take it apart. Thanks!
