Equipment Catalog Numbering System
From SPID
The Equipment Catalog Numbering System [ECNS] is a system for the cataloging and identification of the specific technological designs or implementations of a system that is a member of a Collection Of Systems. Every specific system unit on all vessels, installations and vehicles has a unique Equipment Catalog Number, or ECN. This includes equipment like Engine Designs, computer configurations, weapons, etc.
The ECNS, along with several other catalogs, is a sub-catalog of the larger Master Catalog Numbering System [MCNS].

Numbering Conventions

TT[T]-
Classification
MMM[M]-
Model Suffix
S[S]-

- Design Prefix: A four letter prefix, indicating the design group or Space Police division that designed the item.
- Classification: A two or three letter base, indicating the type or class of the design.
