A sleek design, it is the first mass produced Space Police vessel to be equipped with the PHIEBE system.

History

• The Justifier has an unwarranted reputation as an unreliable platform. Due to it's quick design and build phase, early Justifiers suffered from quality issues and maladjusted power distribution systems, notably resulting in random losses of weapon systems, but usually culminating in misreports in computer readouts and minor flight control problems. Because of the urgent need for the firepower and the relative unlikelihood of these failures, they were rushed into service anyway. After the debut of Hyperion, the Justifiers were slowly refitted with repair packages to correct their problems. They are now very capable machines, despite their bad reputation. Refitted Justifiers now have very similar flight and attack capabilities to that of Hyperion in space.

Other Notes

• The Justifier was the first mass produced fighter type craft equipped with the new (at the time) PHIEBE system. This vessel was the first line of offense during the beginning of the UFO Conflict, with its powerful PHIEBE beam weapon systems. Because of it's heavy involvement in many early sorties in the UFO Conflict and early design problems, the Justifier witnessed higher than normal loss rates.
• The Justifier is the second quickest "bin-to-battle" vessel in Space Police history, with an average build time of 18 hours, 4 minutes. It is bested only by the Rebel Hunter in this regard.
• The Justifier holds the unofficial record of the quickest time from initial design to first built ship, at an astounding 5 months.
• The Justifier was never prototyped. Because it was designed around lightly modified off-the-shelf components - themselves distant children of the venerable GPK-A - and due to the pressing need for power in the battle field, it went straight from drawing board to active duty.
