Limited Assault Craft are used primarily for capital ship defense in situations where the capital ship is itself the offensive unit (i.e. planetary bombardment, capital-to-capital offense). Capital ships using full-sized fighters for offensive maneuvers (dogfighting, strike fighting, special operations) do not employ Limited Assault Craft.
