Reclaimer

Launched in response to the poor reliability of Gamma, the Space Police High Command commissioned Joseph Schneider, the son of the legendary Gary Schneider to design Gamma's replacement. Reclaimer, a marvel in efficient design and space superiority, was launched with resounding success. With it's state-of-the-art multi-directional PHIEBE beam weapon system, it's an excellent machine matched in design and legend only by the GPK-A.

History

  • The Reclaimer was commissioned in response to the heavy losses incurred due to the design failures of Gamma. Space Police High Command desperately needed a capable Special Operations fighter that was accessible to the masses, could be built in relatively large numbers, could be repaired easily, and could be piloted by every day ace pilots. In contrast, the existing GPK-A vessels require extensive specialized training to properly utilize their power and the Gamma is incredibly complex and has a revolutionary but unconventional control system that makes it almost impossible to control by most pilots.
  • The Reclaimer prototype model rolled off the assembly line early in the UFO conflict. It's design was solid from the beginning and required only a few minor tweaks to the power system, and was then ready to go into full production within 3 weeks. The first Reclaimer rolled off the assembly line just as <<the federation>> started to lose vital ground in the UFO conflict. It was decided to give the ship a full battle test. It was so successful on the battle field, that the ships were put into active duty as fast as they could be built.
  • Reclaimer was instrumental in holding back the UFO during the UFO Conflict. Because of it's multi-directional PHIEBE, Reclaimer could float through a formation of UFO and systematically tag each target as she passed causing significant damage to the enemy, but this only succeeded in holding the ground << the federation>> had. Space Police High Command could not rely on Reclaimer alone for offensive maneuvers, due to it's relatively long build time compared to that of the UFO.
  • The PHIEBE system so impressed Space Police High Command that it was ordered to be adapted to a new standard fighter design and put into action as soon as possible. This order resulted in the Justifier, which turned the tide in the UFO Conflict.
